I was born and raised in NYC and moved to Southern California after visiting the West a few times and loving the mild year round climate.
I was very unhappy in my previous career. All I wanted in life was to do something meaningful, something that I was passionate about. With a lot of studying, preparation, and some good luck, I was offered the opportunity to teach at a local community college. The opportunity changed my life, and I have never looked back. I love this job and consider myself very fortunate because not too many people get to reinvent themselves in middle age.
A very wise man once told me "tell the universe out loud what you want," "always be kind," and "never burn a bridge." I am so glad I listened to him. I feel as if some of the opportunities that came my way were born from these very simple pieces of advice. I am living proof that with some hard work and always remembering to get right back up when life knocks you down, your dreams can come true.
I am proud to say that I have an A.A., B.A, and M.A. degree from UC and CSU and am currently working on a second M.A. degree in Modern and Contemporary Art History, Theory, and Criticism with a focus on the medium of photography.
